El Dorado, Ark.-based Murphy Oil Corp. has shuttered its New
Orleans offices, moving its domestic exploration and production
office to Houston.
The move, plans for which were unveiled by the company late last
year, was completed about two weeks ago, Murphy spokesman Dory Stiles
said today.
Murphy is still deciding what to do with the company-owned space
at 131 S. Robertson St. that formerly housed the New Orleans office,
he said.
He could not immediately confirm the number of jobs shifted to
Houston. In announcing the change last year, company officials said
the move would involve roughly 100 positions.
