Article: Omni Bank opens renovated French Quarter branch

Omni Bank has opened its new French Quarter branch at 301 Chartres St. The branch at the corner of Bienville Street occupies an 1830s- era structure that housed the first Ursuline Convent, a charity hospital and a cigar manufacturer.

Omni spent more than $1 million on renovating and upgrading the building for the bank branch. Architect Chip Rome of VergesRome collaborated on the project for more than three years with lead contractor Brice Construction. The structure was restored to its mid- 19th century facade, which had been altered several times.

"We're thrilled to establish our presence in the historic French Quarter in such an architecturally significant building," said Omni
