It's time for New Orleans to compete.
It's time to take a steely eyed look at what attributes we have on
hand and deal with the reality.
In the French Quarter, reality meant outrageous insurance rates
uncoupled from true risk assessment. No more.
Oh, the French Quarter is still wrongly being treated as a pariah
by U.S. insurers with few writing policies and the remainder charging
sky-high rates with impossible-to-pay deductibles.
It took an Irish duo to find a way out of this mess without
whining for government assistance. It took Irish ingenuity to devise
a feasible way to restore the insurance safety net under many French
Quarter business owners.
