Washington Bullets center Kevin Duckworth, who was said to be as
much as 60 pounds overweight at times last season, has entered a
weight-loss clinic at Duke University Medical Center.
Meanwhile, the Bullets may not have second-year guard Calbert
Cheaney for their summer program after all. Cheaney has a strained
ligament in one leg that will be examined by team doctors today, and
General Manager John Nash told the player that if there's a chance
of doing more damage, he shouldn't play.
Duckworth entered the program at the urging of the Bullets, but
team sources said he ultimately made the decision himself. His
