Col. Franklin Wood began a $37,000-a-year contractual state job
on the same day he retired as superintendent of the Maryland Natural
Resources Police this month.
Department of Natural Resources officials confirmed that Wood,
who retired July 1 after 26 years with the police force, asked for
and received a job created for him in the department's Boating
Administration, according to a report yesterday in the Annapolis
Capital.
Wood will collect his pension in addition to his new salary.
The size of his pension is confidential information, Natural
Resources Department spokesman Michael O'Brien said.
Wood said his new salary, combined with his pension, would not
exceed the $68,000 a year ...
