Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Jim Leyland felt sick for weeks
after blowing a 10-run lead in Philadelphia in 1989. Now, Houston
Astros Manager Terry Collins will learn how it feels to lose an
impregnable lead.
Carlos Garcia homered and drove in four runs and the Pirates
staged one of the greatest comebacks in their 107-year history last
night, rallying from eight runs down for an 11-8 victory.
"It's a sick feeling to lose a game like that," said Astros
starter Greg Swindell, who couldn't hold an 8-0 lead in the second
inning.
Appropriately enough, the player most responsible for the win
was Ravelo Manzanillo, who staged a remarkable comeback by returning
to the majors this season after ...
