SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER

Sadlyoverlooked during its theatrical release, "Searching
for Bobby Fischer" does for chess what "The Karate Kid" did for
martial arts, albeit with considerably more complexity and class.
This charming story is based on the real adventures of 7-year-old
champion Josh Waitzkin (Max Pomeranc), who learned the game from the
speed-chess players in New York's Washington Square. Laurence
Fishburne plays the child's first tutor, an affable "blitzer" who
recognizes and nurtures the youngster's natural talent and love for
