Ever since Erica Jong can remember, she has exuded a certain
scent. Not sweat, although as the best-selling author of "Fear of
Flying," the definitive dirty book of the Herpes II generation, she
certainly worked up a few dewdrops of perspiration.
And it wasn't Summer's Eve, musk oil or chicken noodle soup.
Erica Jong says she has always smelled of sex.
"I had this thing when I was younger, and I didn't understand
it," she says, crossing one cream-colored Gucci loafer over the
other, settling back on a sofa at the Four Seasons Hotel. "Which
was, men pursued me. I had this `it' thing. I don't even know what
it was. I had it to an inordinate degree. I think it's a smell of
sexuality. ...
