A DNA sample taken from the Bowie man accused of being the
Prince George's County "crossbow rapist" matches semen taken from
one of the rapist's four victims, a forensic scientist testified
yesterday.
Richard Guerrieri, who works in the North Carolina medical
laboratory that performed the testing, said the DNA of Alphonzo
Quinn, 38, matches material removed from the underwear of a
24-year-old woman who was assaulted in her Bowie home last Sept. 5.
Police and prosecutors say that from June 7 to Sept. 5, 1993,
Quinn broke into the houses of four women, threatened them with a
crossbow and an assault rifle, bound them with duct tape and rope
and raped them.
