Like some ancient Greek tragedy unfolding on a modern American stage, the bitter power struggle among members of Washington's Haft family is a spectacle of character flaws, emotional pain and serious errors in judgment.

While individual members of the Haft clan may not exhibit all the traits that are generally ascribed to characters in a classic Greek tragedy, the unraveling of the family and the real threat that that poses to the businesses they founded do contain elements of genuine tragedy.
