Bill Hollows's 47-yard field goal with four minutes left gave
Wake Forest its first lead and a 12-10 victory over Division I-AA
Appalachian State yesterday in Winston-Salem, N.C. Appalachian
State's Jay Sutton missed a 42-yard field goal with 52 seconds left.
After Hollows's fourth field goal, Wake Forest (1-1) forced a
fumble on Appalachian State's next possession, but Hollows missed a
49-yarder with three minutes left.
Appalachian State quarterback Andy Arnold's bootleg around left
end on fourth-and-one turned into a 43-yard touchdown and Sutton had
a 26-yard field goal.
