Article: Tug of War Over Electronics; Best Buy vs. Circuit City Promises a Price War Where Consumers Might Win Big

The prices of television sets, videocassette recorders, compact disc players and other consumer electronics are about to fall.

That's the likely result of a showdown looming in the local consumer electronics market. On Oct. 28 Best Buy Co. of Minneapolis will open eight locations in the area, bringing the first substantial challenge to Circuit City Stores Inc., which dominates the Washington market.
