Article: Some Haitian Americans Troubled By Possibility of a U.S. Invasion

Cheers of "Vive Aristide" rocked the Veye-Yo headquarters in Miami's Little Haiti Thursday night as hundreds of Haitians watched President Clinton's speech. But while the mood in the storefront meeting place was jubilant, many Haitian Americans are wary, afraid - even angry - about a U.S. invasion of their small, impoverished homeland.

"Now that this invasion looks like it is going to happen, many Haitian Americans have changed their minds," said Danielle Romer, the director of Haitian Support in Miami, which runs a telephone hot line for the community.
