Henry Mitchell, the Washington Post garden columnist who died
last year, will be remembered at a gathering Sept. 24 at the
National Arboretum.
For more than 20 years, Mitchell wrote The Post's Sunday
gardening column and was widely admired for his knowledge and wit.
He often praised the arboretum in his writings but "in particular he
complained that our azalea collection was poorly identified," said
Lisa Wilson, director of the Friends of the National Arboretum,
