This is the 50th anniversary year of the creation of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund at Bretton Woods, N.H., just as the Allies were closing in on victory in World War II. A discussion and flood of reports on what we have learned - and where we go from here - will reach a crescendo at a symposium in Madrid starting midweek in conjunction with the annual meeting of the IMF and the World Bank.
