Randi Jacobs smiled from ear to ear as she watched 10-year-old Stephanie Mastriania deftly maneuver her wheelchair so she could become part of a lively conga line.

"This is exactly what we wanted," Jacobs said, watching Mastriania and other young people Thursday night at Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center's youth dance. "We wanted them to feel they have a lot of chances to have fun, especially in an environment filled with friends and family."

The event transformed Schreiber Center on Community Way into a dance club featuring a multicolored disco ball, refreshments and disc jockey Richard Russell, who spun hits from the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez and the Beatles.
