The CIA has denied it acted in a discriminatory manner
toward a female former station chief who has sued the agency, but
admitted she may be able to produce "evidence of discrimination
sufficient to establish" a compelling case, according to court
papers filed in U.S. District Court in Alexandria.
Last July, using the pseudonym "Jane Doe Thompson," a 23-year
veteran case officer filed an unprecedented civil court suit against
the agency and seven of its employees, including CIA Inspector
General Frederick P. Hitz.
In her complaint, "Thompson" alleged discrimination against her
because she was a woman, violation of her constitutional rights,
defamation and libel.
