Just as the gunslinging cowboy would hunt down the bad guy in
the movies, Navy linebacker Shane Halloran greets running backs and
linemen with an ornery attitude. Doesn't much care for them. It's
his job to corral them, and if after the tackle they're too woozy to
make it back to the huddle, that's just fine with him.
As the strong side linebacker in Navy's 4-3 defense, Halloran
will be the centerpiece in today's game at Air Force and its
wishbone-like double wing formation. Halloran no doubt will be
hounded all afternoon by Air Force players trying to take him out of
the many plays the Falcons run to his stacked side.
