Article: A ceremony for the ages -- all ages; Manheim Township graduates 357 students, one a 75-year-old veteran

The Manheim Township High School class of 2002 made its commencement timeless.

There was very little 2002 about Tuesday night's ceremony.

The graduates pulled their motto -- "Celebrate we will, because life is short but sweet for certain" -- off a 1996 Dave Matthews Band album.

They took the theme for the ceremony -- "To everything there is a season" -- from the book of Ecclesiastes, but as senior Andrew Payne pointed out, most of his classmates know the phrase from the Byrds' 1965 hit "Turn, Turn, Turn."

Never mind that most graduates weren't born until 1984, with one notable exception.
