A Park City Center security guard blew the whistle on one of the
mall's food court stands last week, leading Lancaster city officials
to close the eatery temporarily Tuesday for major health-code
violations.
The guard phoned the city's Environmental Health and Protection
Unit Tuesday after witnessing a cook at Chinese Gourmet Express
smoking a cigarette while cleaning and cutting meat in a prep room
sink. The cook also was not wearing gloves. The cook disposed of the
ash from the cigarette in the sink, according to the complaint.
The guard's identity is being kept confidential by the health
unit, as is department policy for complainants.
