The genetic scientist looks at Terry Bowden's 17-0 record as
head coach of probation-saddled Auburn and figures he must have
inherited his ability from his father, Bobby, who during the past 18
years has developed Florida State into a perennial college football
power and the reigning national champion.
"I wish it was a chip off the old block," Bobby Bowden said.
"That little rascal hasn't even tasted defeat yet. I'm scared to
tell him that it will happen one of these days.
"They've done a heck of a job. I've never done anything like
it."
