They already know one William Smith at Lancaster Country Club. Now
they're getting to know another.
The William Smith who's a 33-year-old amateur golfer from Newville
(not the William Smith who's an assistant pro at LCC) is atop the
leaderboard after the first round of the 85th annual Pennsylvania
Open golf championship at LCC.
William Smith, the leader, goes by William Smith. William Smith,
LCC's assistant pro, goes by Billy Smith. They aren't related.
"His name gets screwed up with mine all the time," says Billy
Smith. "That's good for me, bad for him. He's the better player."
