Golfers often refuse to drink coffee before an early morning round, fearing it's bad for the nerves.

But compared to the way Rob Shuey's day began Tuesday, caffeine would seem like a depressant.

The 40-year-old head pro at Felicita in Harrisburg and former assistant at Bent Creek was finishing up a lesson at his club when he saw his wife, Kelly, pull away from the parking lot.

Nothing too unusual there, except for the fact that Shuey's golf clubs were in the trunk of his wife's car, and he was about two hours away from his starting time for the second round of the Pennsylvania Open at the Lancaster Country Club.
