It would be East Hempfield Township's first so-called "livable
community."
And developers of the proposed community along Harrisburg Pike
will present plans next week for a village offering things like
smaller lot sizes, mixed housing types, sidewalks, trees and front
porches.
Charter Homes Building Co. of Manheim Township is proposing the
still-unnamed neighborhood at a 63-acre site along Harrisburg Pike,
at the southeast corner of the Harrisburg Pike/Sylvan Road
intersection and across from Ye Old Mill Road.
It also is near Golden Meadows Swim Club and just west of Village
Grande, a proposed 55-and-older residential community along
Harrisburg Pike.
