SOUTH LEBANON -- By halftime Friday night, Hempfield had done
enough to solidify its fourth-place position among the eight Section
One teams in the Lancaster-Lebanon League.
The Black Knights scored touchdowns on drives of 70, 79 and 51
yards on their only three possessions of the half in building a
comfortable 21-0 lead over Cedar Crest at Earl Boltz Stadium.
From there, it was just a matter of running out the clock for the
Black Knights (3-3 L-L, 6-3 overall), who won 31-13 on a night when
the rain intensified as the second half unfolded.
Cedar Crest (2-4, 4-5) avoided a shutout with two late scores,
aided by miscues by the Black Knights. Still, it was a solid
