A former World Bank official who disappeared last week during his trial in Loudoun County on charges of using forged checks to buy thoroughbred horses for his daughter was arrested in the District early yesterday morning.

Kazem Iravani, 48, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. by federal investigators at his sister's apartment in the 2100 block of California Street NW.

Authorities were alerted to Irava- ni's whereabouts by two phone calls from people who had seen his photograph in The Washington Post, Loudoun Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney James D. …
