A majority of Manheim Township commissioners is poised to reject
the idea of raising taxes to finance construction of a multimillion-
dollar community center.
In interviews this morning, three of the five commissioners said
they will vote tonight against the Manheim Township School District's
proposal to build a competitive swimming pool at the township-owned
Overlook Foundation property.
Such a move, the three commissioners said, would require a local
real estate tax increase -- something a majority of residents are
unwilling to accept.
