Article: Ives makes his pitch for coroner's job

By picking Dr. William Ives to be Lancaster County coroner, Dr. Barry Walp says local voters would be keeping together a team he built during his 20-year career.

Walp, the current coroner, is stepping down after 38 years in the coroner's office, but not before naming a successor.

Wednesday night, he gave his full support to Ives at a fund- raiser at the Comfort Inn on Centerville Road. The $40-per-person event drew about 40 supporters, many of them countywide candidates who were endorsed alongside Ives in February by the Republican Committee of Lancaster County.
