When Willow Valley Retirement Communities formed a community
chorale in February, the folks who signed on were a bit of a mixed
lot: Some of them were lifelong music buffs; others were complete
novices.
But after four months of rehearsals, the 49-member chorale was
onstage Friday singing to a packed auditorium and sounding like
seasoned pros.
They had morphed, as chorale member Dave Sunden put it, "from a
heterogeneous mess to a homogeneous mass."
In its debut performance, Willow Valley's Cultural Center Chorale
sang an inspiring two-hour program of patriotic numbers titled "I
Hear America Singing."
