Article: Peter Sturtevant and the Maret School

Valerie Strauss's article on Marjo Talbott and the reformation of Maret School gave an unjust representation of Peter Sturtevant and the Maret School of the past {Metro, Oct. 24}.

While it is true that Mr. Sturtevant came from a more "traditional" and perhaps old-fashioned training, I doubt he would have wasted faculty time and parents' money calling a meeting to discuss a pressing educational issue such as whether boys in the middle school should be allowed to wear earrings. There would be no Marjo Talbott there let alone a Maret School were it not for Peter Sturtevant.
