Bingo and roller coasters anyone?
As state lawmakers consider a bill that would put slot machines at
racetracks, amusement park owners want to ensure their revenue isn't
gambled away elsewhere.
Should slot machines gain approval, the Pennsylvania Amusement
Parks Association would like legislators to permit parks to offer
bingo and other games of chance to their patrons.
Jerome Gibas, the association's vice president, said such a step
would be necessary for amusement parks to remain competitive.
"If the state feels that games of chance such as slots should be
allowed, they shouldn't pick and choose what businesses will
benefit," Gibas said.
