Talk about making up for lost time.
Saul Silva, Manheim Township's senior tailback, who missed the
final nine games of last season after breaking his right collarbone
in practice, returned to the football field for the first time in a
year against Warwick last Friday night.
And the gritty 5-7, 170-pounder -- chomping at the bit for some
game action -- did not disappoint. Silva rushed for 220 yards on 31
carries and scored a pair of touchdowns as Township topped Warwick 20-
6 in a non-league game in Lititz.
For his efforts, Silva, the comeback kid, has been named the New
Era Player of the Week.
"I was really excited just to get the ball," said Silva, who did
