Article: Fighting mad about planned shopping center

TO THE EDITOR:
Solanco residents are not the only people concerned about the
planned "Drumore Crossings" shopping center. But there are also other
issues besides increased crime that need to be addressed.
Fire safety is a concern. Our volunteer fire departments do a
wonderful job, but they are not equipped to handle a shopping center
that size. Who will be responsible for supplying and paying for the
manpower and equipment needed? Again, we the taxpayers.
What about the water runoff and the sewage treatment plant? On
Aug. 21, an article noted that the Chesapeake Bay Foundation is
calling for major policy changes in the program to restore the bay.
