The controversial proposed sale of the Manheim Township sewer
system to the Lancaster Area Sewer Authority will be on the agenda at
a meeting Monday of the township commissioners.
The $25.5 million sale, which will likely be voted on by the five-
member board in the next few months, has raised the hackles of a
number of township residents who question the timing of the deal and
whether it will be smart financially.
They also want a clear idea of what the commissioners plan to do
with the revenue windfall.
If the commissioners approve the transaction, in fact, some
township residents may file a lawsuit to block the sale. Point,
