It was heated and heavy right down to the last ballot in the
Manheim Township School Board race.
Voters came out in droves over an emotional controversy involving
a proposed $72 million high school.
Township residents ended up giving most of their support to
incumbents who favored the proposed building plan.
The top five vote-getters in the race won seats on the board.
"If you really look at the raw numbers," said incumbent Tom
O'Brien, who was the top vote-getter, "then we (the incumbents) all
did substantially well."
"The opposition said this is a referendum on the building,"
O'Brien said. "To us, the voters have said keep going forward with
the building.
