TO LOSE WEIGHT, Marilyn G. Morrison headed south.
In less than three months on the South Beach Diet, Morrison
dropped 24 pounds and tightened her belt five notches.
"The diet itself makes sense," says Morrison, of Lancaster. "It
does not take you off carbs completely. It's a balanced diet."
Florida cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agatston developed the low-
carbohydrate, heart-healthy plan for his patients in the mid 1990s.
The wildly popular diet takes its name from the glamorous Miami,
Fla., strip of sand where Jennifer Lopez and other pretty people soak
up the sun.
"The South Beach Diet" is currently No. 2 on the New York Times
best sellers list. Celebrity fans include Bill and Hillary Clinton.
