The corn stalks have been cut from the fields. The pumpkins have
been harvested. Everyone's thoughts are turning to Thanksgiving
turkey.
It must be time for Lancaster Mennonite School's Fall Gathering
and Auction - the 61-year-old school's main fund-raising event - to
be held Thursday through Saturday at the school's main campus, 2176
Lincoln Highway East.
Because the LMS auction benefits the school, many of the students
get involved by making various goods to be sold to the highest
bidder. Student-made apple pies are baked, judged and sold. Hand-
stitched students' quilts also are part of the school's 31-year
auction tradition.
