The timing, it appeared, couldn't have been worse.

Putting together an uncharasterically lackluster performance Wednesday night, Cocalico -- the Section Two co-leader, and a team that had lost just twice all year -- was handed a 53-36 non-league drubbing by struggling Ephrata (5-9) on its own court.

This just two days before the Eagles were scheduled to host Elizabethtown in what would be their biggest game of the year to this point.

"We try not to focus on the negative," Cocalico coach Abbie Fabian said Friday night. "And there wasn't much positive about that.
