David R. Workman, who has devoted his career to family law, was
sworn in today as Lancaster County's 13th judge, a position in which
he hopes to continue helping families in a different way.
Workman's new duties as a family court judge - helping decide
the growing number of cases involving support, custody, divorce and
protection-from-abuse cases - were determined before he was even
elected.
"I'm very excited,'' Workman said before President Judge Michael
Georgelis administered the oath in formal ceremonies this morning.
"It's a new challenge.
"It would have been my choice anyway, to work with families and
children,'' said Workman, 48, of Lititz.
