Every once in a while you just have to stop, tip your cap and give
credit where credit is due.
Today, I doff my hat to Garden Spot's girls' volleyball team.
No, no. The Spartans didn't win any championships last fall. But
they did qualify for the Lancaster-Lebanon League playoffs and for
the District 3 Triple-A playoffs for the third year in a row - which
is a very nice accomplishment in itself.
And yet the 14 members of the team did something even better:
They won the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic
Award for the ninth straight year.
To make that distinguished team, the combined grade-point average
of everyone on the roster must be at least 3.30.
Garden Spot's team GPA ...
