The Lancaster County Convention Center Authority will most likely
buy the Ramada-Brunswick Hotel regardless of whether a luxury hotel
is built at the Watt & Shand building.
David W. Hixson, executive director of the convention center
authority, said the convention center/luxury hotel project will need
a second hotel nearby to give visitors lodging options.
More than that, however, plans to revitalize the tired-looking
hotel signifies that the convention center project is still viable,
according to Hixson, although it's been nearly five years since the
idea was officially proposed and nary a piece of ground has been
turned over.
