Students from John Price Elementary School will perform a
composition they created at the Swing 'N Jazz VII Festival in
Rochester, N.Y., in June.
Sixteen fourth- and fifth-grade students have been meeting with
Tom Reese, a nationally known musician and composer from Mount Joy,
since October.
Reese, who says he's been a composer all his life, creating jazz,
classical, Irish music and original Indian music, is also a musician
with the nationally known jazz band The Reese Project. The band's
2002 CD "Blue Etude" won wide acclaim.
Price music instructor Colette Scott is also involved in the
student project. She selected student participants based on their
