Article: 16 students at Price become composers

Students from John Price Elementary School will perform a composition they created at the Swing 'N Jazz VII Festival in Rochester, N.Y., in June.

Sixteen fourth- and fifth-grade students have been meeting with Tom Reese, a nationally known musician and composer from Mount Joy, since October.

Reese, who says he's been a composer all his life, creating jazz, classical, Irish music and original Indian music, is also a musician with the nationally known jazz band The Reese Project. The band's 2002 CD "Blue Etude" won wide acclaim.
