After it had looked like Lancaster-area sewer customers would face
a rate increase this spring, the authority that sets the fees was
able to "tighten our belts" and avoid a hike, in the words of its
executive director.
So, thanks to those belt-tightening steps, the Lancaster Area
Sewer Authority's 30,000 residential and commercial customers will
not pay higher rates over the next year, LASA's executive director
Mike Kyle announced today.
The authority adopted a $15 million budget on March 25, and this
marks the fourth consecutive year with no rate increases for its
customers.
It was able to avoid a hike thanks to refinancing its current debt
and other steps, Kyle said.
