Something occurred to Ruth Graham recently as she was visiting a
church and reading some of the printed prayer needs there.
"My uncle's sick, would you pray for him?" read one. "I have a
health test coming up for such-and-such and would you pray about
that?" read another.
But none of them said, "I'm really lonely and hurting, would you
pray for me?" Or, "I'm fighting an addiction and it's too much for
me, would you pray?"
It was a big church and you just knew people were facing problems
like that, Graham said.
"You look around, and everyone looks so lovely, they look
together, they look happy, they look like nothing is wrong in their
lives," whether it's on a Sunday morning in church or at ...
