Big water, big flies and big fish are attracting growing numbers
of anglers to fish the saltwater of the Chesapeake Bay and the New
Jersey coast.
Bob Popovics is one of the top saltwater fly-rodders on the East
Coast. He lives near Island Beach State Park, just across the inlet
from Barnegat Lighthouse at the north end of Long Beach Island in New
Jersey.
He regularly lectures, shoots photos and video and writes about
saltwater fly-fishing, and is one of the most innovative saltwater
tiers of today. He has revolutionized saltwater flies and fly-tying.
Popovics spoke recently at Evening Rise Fly Fishing Outfitters on
