Strasburg Township supervisors on Monday approved a resident's
request to install a new septic system less than 100 feet from his
well.
Richard Landis told the supervisors that John Kline of Kline
Septic, township sewage enforcement officer Marvin Stoner and another
SEO named Amos Miller had looked at his land.
Landis said the men agreed the only suitable site for a new septic
system on his more than 40 acres was a spot 68 feet from his well.
The township requires a minimum distance of at least 100 feet from
a septic system to a well. Landis said his current, failing septic
system has left raw sewage on his lawn.
