It's been three seasons since Tennessee has won a national
championship in women's basketball, three seasons since the Lady
Vols have even advanced to the Final Four. For one of the most
celebrated programs in the sport's history, such an absence is
unthinkable. The players are the first to admit it. So the Lady
Vols are doing something about it.
Just ask Chris Weller.
"They're the best team I've seen in a long time," Maryland's
coach, in her 20th season, sighed after Tennessee handed her
Terrapins their worst loss ever, 95-29, last Sunday at Cole Field
House. "They do everything well."
