The Newstead Trio, resident chamber ensemble at the Pennsylvania
Academy of Music, is in for a very busy fall. To wit, a sampling of
this week's schedule:
Monday: Play for all-school assembly at Wharton Elementary,
interview and rehearsal.
Thursday: Mini-concert at the Performing Arts Exchange showcase,
Pittsburgh.
Friday: Open the Pennsylvania Academy of Music's Twilight Concert
Series.
And in between: The trio's members were scheduled to teach about
two dozen music lessons and parent their five children under seven.
In less than two weeks, violinist Michael Jamanis, cellist Sara
Male and pianist Xun Pan leave for a tour of China. They'll teach
master classes at the Sichuan Conservatory, ...
