One measure of a healthy society is whether you would be willing
to be dropped into it at random.
Do you think Lancaster County provides sufficient quality of life
and support services to ease the entry of an outsider who is without
personal resources?
Data assembled by the Lancaster Community Indicators Project on
the well-being of the half million people who already live here help
answer that question.
The project's booklet, "Measure Up Lancaster," assesses 70
indicators of community health, from air quality to voter
participation, in an effort to establish baselines for future
evaluation of the local quality of life.
