Article: Group offers a different plan for L-S school; Wants replacement built in Willow Street

For the members of Willow Street Community Group, good schools come in small packages.

The grass-roots organization Monday night presented to Lampeter- Strasburg School District its vision for a replacement for 81-year- old Willow Street Elementary - a vision that clashes with the one recommended by a district advisory committee.

The district committee, composed of district officials and community members, voted 18-1 to recommend the new school have a capacity of 450 to 500 students.

The committee also voted 17-2 for the new school to house kindergarten through fifth-grade students and 17-2 to build the school on the district's main campus in Lampeter, which is home to the high school, ...
